Audience
The guide is intended for application developers who want to extend the capabilities of Aspect Workforce by creating custom components with the SDK. The following skills are required of the user:
- Familiarity with Aspect Workforce
- Entry-level programming knowledge
Programming examples are given in several formats, including Visual C++, HTML, and XML.
Organization of this Guide
This guide consists of the following sections: API Guides, which document the APIs for creating Aspect Workforce applications.
The guide includes the following sections with corresponding beginning page numbers:
- (27) Tally Server API Developer Guide – Introduces the Tally Server API and describes the use of example programs provided with this SDK. Applications created with this API enable you to query the Aspect Workforce system for information related to agents’ schedules.
- (80) Updater API Developer Guide – Specifies the Updater API for development of third-party applications with Aspect Workforce. The Updater API enables you to add, make changes to, and delete segments that comprise agents’ schedules.
- (149) Updater Plug-In Rule Developer Guide – Specifies the information necessary to create, implement, and install an Updater plug-in rule in Aspect Workforce. Updater plug-in rules enhance the native functionality of the Updater system service of Aspect Workforce.

- (249) Controller Tester User Guide – Describes the Aspect Workforce Controller Tester, a utility that enables developers to interact with the Aspect Workforce web services.
- (261) Intra-Day Performance Column Descriptions – This reference guide provides detailed descriptions of intra-day performance (IDP) columns that appear in Aspect Workforce. The column descriptions are needed to make requests when using the web services associated with the IDP server.
